Standard views

In the View selector (located just above the table on all dashboards, reports and specifications) you can choose from different templates. If you're creating a budget, for example, then select the Budget view. If you're working on quarterly reports, select Quarter or Quarters etc.

The Standard views are all standard "templates" that you can easily adjust and update over time. To the right of the View selector you can use the sliders on the timeline to select the right period.

To the left you can edit the content of the standard views by clicking on the sign. You can also edit the Views from the menu on the left-hand side.

The content of standard views

The quickest way by far to understand the content in Views is to go to e.g. Reports >> Profit & Loss, select a View, open the panel of options by clicking on the sign and then selecting/deselecting check marks in the different boxes. Don't worry, you can't break anything when you're working with Views - it's all about what you choose to show in the different columns in the table data and all the calculations are made elsewhere in the system.

Here is a list of the different standard views and an explanation for each of them:

Views

Useful when you're making or presenting the budget for the next year(s).
Actuals
Useful for getting an overview of how the actuals are developing (accounting data).
Estimate
Shows the year to date, the expectations for the rest of the year and the full year.
Month
A conventional monthly report that compares budget figures with actuals for a month, YTD and an estimate for the period.
Months
Similar to months but shows all the months in the period.

The months between the first slider and the orange YTD slider.
YTD
The sum of the period from the first month of the accounting year (or model) to the YTD slider.
Months after YTD
The months between the orange YTD slider and the last slider.
Year
Shows the sum of the period (the accounting year) (or the equivalent from the beginning of the model).

The total sum for the selected period from the first to the second slider. Can also show a period of several accounting years.

The differece between e.g. estimates (100) and the budget (60) in % (=66,667%).
Index
The difference between e.g. actuals (80) and actuals last year (LY) (100) in % (=80).
Special sums
These sums only relate the period of the accounting year in which the YTD is placed.
B-R (remaining budget) - shows what is missing in order to reach the budget for the year.
R/B (index) - shows where you are now if B is index 100.
E-R (estimated remaining budget) - shows what is missing in order to reach the estimate for the year.
E/R (est. index) - shows where you are now if the estimate is index 100.
