Update budget values
This function allows you to quickly get the foundations for your budget – e.g. from previous accounts or other budgets. You can also adjust all the values in an area,
e.g. by adding a percentage.
How to update your budget data
Select the function using the icon with the two arrows in a circle in the upper right corner. It is available in the Profit & Loss and Opening Balance Sheet reports, as well as in all specifications and account specifications.
Start by verifying that "Account from" and "Account to" are correct. Enter an adjustment factor (e.g. 10) and an adjustment operator (e.g. plus percent) and select where you want to retrieve the data from (e.g. from the active model or from the accounting data). budget123 automatically suggests the active model, so if you just want to add 2% to the existing values you do not need to do anything.
If you select Accounting data, budget123 will automatically look at how current your accounting data is, and the most recent data will be inserted in the columns with year and month. You can of course adjust for each month.
If you select No change, budget123 will leave that/those month(s) unchanged when updating budget values.
Changing the values at the beginning of the year (the opening)
This function is useful for quickly changing the values at the beginning of the year in the Opening Balance Sheet when last year’s accounts have been closed and you have a new opening balance. It is not possible to make any adjustments – it is only the values at the beginning of the year that you can update.
Please note!
The adjustments only affect the values in the Account line in the Account specification. All lines with values from Investments, Loans, formulas or extra lines are not affected by the [Update budget data] function.
If you are using Departments, please be aware that [Update budget data] will have an effect on all departments. That is, if you retrieve the accounting data, and these are posted in departments, they will also be distributed into departments in the budget. And if you choose to adjust by 2%, this will occur on all departments levels.
